An "It's A Small World" Giveaway!

You know the 'old song', It's A Small World...after all....it's a small...OK :) Well, I have a giveaway from someone that fits the bill.

My 3rd college I attended (haha!) was MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University). After I graduated from there in 2004, I returned home to Virginia and in Dec. of 05, after marrying Zach in June, we moved to Wake Forest, NC to attend Seminary. We are nerdy and had researched churches online and knew exactly the ones we wanted to visit. We visited North Wake - and loved it. We tried a couple other churches, but nothing felt as right as North Wake did.

We joined the next new members class. We were waiting for the class to start and I looked to the back of the room and saw a couple walk in - Josh & Stephanie...I immediately knew that I went to MTSU with them. Another couple followed and I recognized them from MTSU as well...here we are...12 hours or so away from MTSU and there are 5 of us that graduated from there in the same room (I later learned of a handful of others that also attended MTSU that now live in the area!)

Anywho! While we didn't really know each other very well, not more than a passing "hi", I've gotten to know these fellow Blue Radiers a bit better!

Stephanie has a beautiful family now and a baby Raider of their own! She also has a fabulous etsy shop with beautiful cards, journal and bible covers, crayon wallets and quilted list takers. I love looking at her shop and all the beautiful fabrics!

I finally decided on what I wanted and she made me a beautiful journal cover for church and small group Bible study. I absolutely love it! I've had so many compliments on it!

Stephanie has offered one of her beautiful and oh-so-fun appliqued Moleskin journals to one of my readers! You can find them in her etsy shop here. The journal will be in standard size, but the winner chooses the applique. Not only that, but if you choose to buy something from her shop, she'll offer FREE SHIPPING!! (Just mention The Jones' Journey blog in "notes to seller" and she will refund you via paypal)

Here are some examples of her moleskin journals

How can you win? Easy...and for fun - I'll give you multiple ways to win! Make sure for each thing you do, leave a separate comment - if you do all 5, leave 5. separate. comments. :)

REQUIRED
For one entry, visit her etsy shop and come back and tell me your favorite thing from her shop! (If you do not complete this, but do the others, you will be disqualified...I'm mean...) :)

OPTIONAL
For another entry, follow my blog...see all those people hanging out on the left about half way down...jump in line behind them (and click "Follow This Blog") :)

For another entry, blog about this, linking to her site and my blog

For 2 extra entries, refer a friend to my blog! You have to say, "I referred Sally." Sally has to say, "Ellen referred me." :) (you only have to comment once for this - I will add you name by hand 1 extra time!)

Finally, for 5 extra entries (!!!!) buy something from her site, come back and tell me what you bought (I will confirm it with Stephanie!) (you only have to comment once for this - I will add you name by hand 4 extra times!)

Is that fair??? You can get 10 entries!!!!

So, this will close on Feb. 28th at noon. I will draw a winner via random.org shortly after lunchish time....

The latest...

The inevitable happened. I knew it was bound to happen. But I really thought Zach and I made big babies that don't get teeth til much later (K got his first tooth at 9 months-ish)...

Well, we make big babies...

But Benjamin has decided now is a good time to start getting teeth. I noticed last night his bottom teeth were right below the gum line.

Today we were eating lunch and he was ready for lunch too, but I needed to get K down first and I stuck my knuckle in his mouth to gnaw on ...and I felt it. Bottom, front right tooth.

Sigh. We're not even done with K yet - he has 2 more 2 year molars to go. I just wanted a week long break from teething. The hope is he'll get it over with quickly...maybe?

The good news - he's a MUCH better teether than K was/IS! You'd never know there was a tooth coming through.

I have a feeling K is working on one of those said molars. He's warmer today and clingy and fussy (the later two are nothing out of the ordinary, but the 'warmness' is usually his teething indicator)

And finally (because both boys are napping and I want to lay down and read!) head on over to my mommy blog and enter for a chance to win some Mabel's Labels! I had a chance to participate in this giveaway via The Giveaway Connection, a new blog in the momgeneration.com circle. There are 6 bloggers participating in this giveaway - and you can enter at all the blogs!

GIVEAWAY!

For starters, this giveaway is open to Raleigh/Wake Forest residents only due to shipping purposes. I simply cannot mail out all the prizes. I apologize for my far-away readers! Hopefully, there will be more giveaways to come!!

Also, this is giveaway #1, you have a handful of ways to win here. If you go to my musings blog, you can enter again (you can only win once though, but this does double (or something) your chances of winning!) There will be two winners here and two on my musings blog.
----------------------------------------
Onto the giveaway!

I want to start by saying that we, ourselves, have not tested out this product because it is not recommended for children under 2 - we still have a couple more months to go before we can try it out, but we are definitely going to be using it asap!

Sinupret contacted me about doing this giveaway and I'm so excited! Since we are hearing more and more scary things about cough & cold medicines, especially for children, it is so nice to know there is something out there that is natural and that works!

Dr. Sears has written an article for the Health News Digest about the product that has a lot of great information included in it.

The four giveaway packs I have include the following:

A sample of Sinupret for Kids (remember, not recommended for children under 2)
Cute yellow, toy binoculars
An activity book
A $3.00 coupon for Sinupret for Kids
and Dr. Sears' book, The Healthiest Kid in the Neighborhood (which I'm super jealous about!)

So, how can you win?

Leave a comment below telling me who would be using this product. Make sure you either leave me your email address OR have your email visible on your blog or profile so I can contact you.

For an extra entry -
Follow my blog (it counts if you already do!)
Head over to my musings blog and enter there!

Want another entry?

Blog about this giveaway and link back in another comment!

Just remember - you must be in the Raleigh, NC area. The winners and I will arrange a time to meet up.

I will pick the winner by using random.org. This giveaway is open until 12noon (EST) Friday, December 19. The winners will have 48 hours to respond to my email or a new winner will be drawn.

Daddy made me do it

Ok, Keaton didn't SAY that. But this morning at breakfast, he took a bite of his waffle and then spit it out. I asked him why he did that, he responded with, "Daddy"...we enjoyed a good laugh! :)

Unfortunately, both boys are now sick :( Keaton picked up something, I'm sure, from his "older toddlers" class (or the dr's. office, or the grocery store cart, or...) Whenever he gets something, it shows up Wednesday morning. Tuesday, he was all over Benjamin (he loves him SO much!!! As I type, he's standing next to his swing, a bag over his shoulder, keys in hand, waving/saying bye bye and blowing kisses!) But, yes, Tuesday, Benjamin was showered with big brother kisses. Wednesday, Keaton woke up with a snotty nose and congestion. Benjamin woke up this morning with a cough and congestion.

We had stopped Benjamin's probiotics because it always seemed he was fussier on the the days he got it, but we started it up this morning, in hopes to shorten the duration of this cold.

We'll go see Dr. Davis today. Keaton's been falling a lot while walking/running around and Benjamin is having a hard time latching on.

Don't forget to enter the two giveaways I'm hosting. The travel wipes case giveaway ends tomorrow night at 9pm!!!!! The embellished onesie giveaway ends Sunday afternoon at 3pm! And don't forget to head over to Bloggy Giveaways for the Carnival!!!! There's nearly 1400 giveaways you can enter!!!!

Re-cap of the week

We didn't have a super busy week, yet, I feel like so much happened!

Last Friday, we made the trek to UNC for my "6 week check-up" (Benjamin turned 9 weeks yesterday, what can you do?!) and I got all checked and cleared for life as normal! No more UNC for awhile! I got to see my favorite midwife and she got to love on Benjamin. I will miss seeing her, but not miss that drive! Whew (OR the parking garage!) ;-)

Benjamin slept thru the night quite a few nights this week! That was SO nice! However, towards the end of the week, he started getting very gassy and very fussy. He was also, once again, having a hard time latching on when nursing. So, we went to see our chiro (Hi Dr. Davis!) on Thursday morning. All afternoon he screamed and screamed and scre...ok, you get the idea. Dr. Davis was oh-so-kind to help me through email and give me tip and tricks. We went back Friday morning and he's been SO much happier since then! I'm not sure what it was...

Now we're just waiting on Bebe to get here for a last minute trip!

We're going to get Keaton some shoes (poor kid, all he has is sandals and it's 50 degrees outside!!! That's fine for me, but not for my sweet pea!) and some fabric so I can get back into sewing...I have an itch that I need to scratch :)

Don't forget to enter my 200th post/1st giveaway!!! It's open until Oct. 31st at 9pm!!! At that time, I'll draw a winner and post that here on my blog (as well as email the winner!)

Also, be sure to be checking my recipe blog, I just posted a TON of recipes there yesterday!

After we get this fabric, I'm hoping to be able to open a site and start selling some things! (Wraps, burp cloths, blankets to match, taggy blankets, pillow case dresses/shirts, purses, ...who knows what else!) :)

One last thing! We have B's 2 month appt. Tuesday afternoon. I'm very curious to see how much he weighs and how long he is (see picture below!) Feel free to participate in the poll to the left!

My Sweet Pea

My Sugar Lump :)

I never mentioned B's ear because I wanted to get a picture of it first (just the way I'd mention it would make it sound worse than it really is!) When he was born, we immediately noticed that he had part of his ear "missing" (See how bad that sounded!) The dr's. all think it's because of the way he was laying (transverse for so stinkin' long!) in my belly or just because God made him that way! It doesn't affect his hearing at all (he passed his newborn screening) it's just something that makes him special and unique!

A family in our small group (Thank you Jolley's!) brought us a meal (two actually, yum, yum thank you!!!) after B was born and they brought this ADORABLE towel for Keaton!!!

See what I mean!? he's SO long!!! And are those not the cutest Pjs you ever saw?!!

200th post & a giveaway!!!!!

Well, I did it - and in a surprisingly short amount of time (less than a year!) I made it to my 200th post! Since I'm working on generating more traffic to my blog, I teamed up with a friend to do a giveaway! First a bit about the giver of the giveaway!

Cara Delight is a WAHM to 3 sweet children ages 9, 4 and 15months. She has an amazing talent for sewing & embroidery. Her business is Bubbles & Bows Boutique and she focuses on custom items for mom and baby - everything from onesies & growth charts to cloth diapers & bags to put them in! She started her business in July because she loves to sew (she's been sewing for 16 years!) and create new products. Her business allows her a creative outlet while providing income to ensure her ability to stay at home.

Feel free to check out her site and do a little Christmas shopping while you're there!

Now, what you're waiting for! A GIVEAWAY!!! My first here and I'm SO excited about it! Cara has graciously offered one of her oh-so-cute Travel Wipes Cases to one of my readers! Not only will you receive this handy item - it will be named after you (or the recipient) as well!! (The Travel Wipes Case shown is a representation of the case being given away. The Winner will be able to choose their fabric.)

It's easy to win! But, I need you to do a couple of things for me! To enter you simply respond to this post with the following:
*An email address (or blog address)
*Visit Bubbles & Bows Boutique and tell me what your favorite item is
OR
*Tell me a topic you would like for me to "tackle"

For an EXTRA entry:
*Blog about this giveaway (respond to this post, in a new comment, letting me know you did so, linking back to the blog)

This give away will end at 9pm, October 31st, 2008. I will use random.org (number generator) to pick a winner.
**email addresses will ONLY be used to contact the winner.**
