Ok, The Magic Bullet. My new favorite kitchen appliance (don't tell my mixer that though!)
My mom got us (me) this for Christmas for Keaton's baby food. With my weak tummy over the past few weeks it has stayed in the box. The idea of pureed foods stinking up my house was not appealing!
But today, I finally got back to making some food for Keaton!
I have been so antsy to try yolk-only scrambled eggs for him. So, into the bullet went egg yolks, milk and 1/2 slice of American cheese. Screw on the cross blade and off it goes!! (And Keaton started to scream!)
I threw it in a frying pan and 5 minutes later, Keaton was devouring some yolk-only scrambled eggs :) He absolutely loved them!!!
Later on, I did his usual carrots. His nap wasn't long enough for me to add rice to it, so tomorrow, with the left over carrots, I'll be making carrots & rice before these carrots go bad :)
My house did stink to high heaven after steaming those carrots, but, since my tummy was feeling OK, it didn't matter that much :)
I made it smell better with my newest, favorite chicken casserole for dinner :-D
Here's Keaton enjoying the fruits...er, um...eggs? of my labor, haha :)

OMG!
WHAT A CUTIE PIE!!
And I see his teeth!!
Yay!!!
So....i've seriously always wanted the magic bullet. Glad to know you like it! We are only the proud owners of the flip 'n grip and scoop 'n strain...they're great! :)
and i have to say...you're my blogging hero now! 17 times already in January! i can't believe you put off the blog for so long...i love it!
I have to echo Erin on being the blogging hero....I can't even get past the first two that I've posted. I'm glad that to see about the eggs...I've wanted to do that for Hunter but I wasn't sure how it would turn out. What else (table-food) are you feeding him?
Erin - I am totally going to have to check out the flip 'n grip and scoop 'n strain!! Sounds intriguing! :)
Kelly - I'm pretty much at the point that I just give Keaton a taste of whatever we're eating, haha :) He's had mac & cheese (I boiled Rotini and melted Am. cheese on top), grilled cheese, the scrambled eggs, pizza crust, if we're having fresh fruit or veggies, I'll let him try that (assuming he can have the fruit or veggie)...Last night I made a rice & chicken casserole w/ carrots and peas in it...he had bites of it all and loved it...We make Viola skillet dinners about once a week and I give him the chicken and veggies from that (either 3 cheese or Garlic chicken versions) spaghetti...who knows what else he's had...I've lost track :)
I talked w/ our pediatrician and he said that since no food allergies run on either side of our family, we can be a little bit more relaxed w/ trying new foods, but just to keep an extra eye out for allergic reactions
I have some sugar-free jell-o in the fridge that he'll have at snack today :) I'm excited about that!
I don't know if you're interested in making Hunter's food or not, but I use a site, wholesome baby food ( http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ )
There's a book Super Baby Food, but I don't like it much. It hasn't been very helpful. My Pedi. and Lactation Consultant have both suggested the website 100 times over the book. But it has lots of recipes on there. This weekend I'm going to try and make pancakes for him (My goal was yesterday, but the Magic Bullet scares him (it's LOUD! haha) and so that was out of the question!) :)
So yeh - feel free to ask any questions :) I have gotten too creative w/ recipes other than mixing foods and adding some cinnamon now and then to his fruit :)
